Of course I do not mean to throw away our money…
I was curious to notice some kiosks in Changi airport when I made my last business trip.
I realized those kiosks accept foreign currency from travelers to redeem gift cards from many partners (starbucks, crab, skype etc)
Finally there is a solution for my leftover coins/small notes from countries I traveled.
I did not travel much in recent years, but I went to some and most countries I do not have plan to travel to in soon future, and I know I have plenty of leftover coins/small notes.
I was looking for ways to get rid of them. The kiosk from Travelerbox is best idea ever.
I was so excited that I took out all the foreign currency coins/notes from my storage once I got home from airport.
There were more than what I thought I have.
I have coins from Thailand, Philippines, Australia, Indonesia, Japan, HongKong, China, and Taiwan.
These currencies are accepted by the kiosk.
I also have a lot of small notes from Vietnam, but unfortunately it is not accepted by Travelerbox kiosk yet.
I did not count how much in amount from all the coins/notes I could exchange, but I am glad that I get to finally
do something with them, instead of keeping them for nothing. It is such a good chance for to declutter my foreign currency.
Looked forward to bring the coins to try on the kiosk in my next trip to airport, then bring some gift cards back 🙂
