Finally I got a chance to visit Thailand in this year, though it was for work purpose, visiting Thailand after 8 years made me a little excited. The work trip was too short, I wish to have a chance to visit Thailand again for leisure one day.
I have not been practicing Ukulele for long, so I made myself to register for the intermediate class, which is on every Tuesday 8-9pm and it started from 10th Oct for 12 lessons. The class fee is rather costly but I am happy that I will ‘touch’ on my ukulele more often, at least till December. The classes are no longer to only practice songs with same strumming pattern, but few strumming patterns in one song, it is getting challenging but fun, and fulfilling after each class.
October was rather a busy month but I managed to do some activities with friends, including attending a Muay Thai session, trying out Aerial Yoga, which were my first times. Muay Thai was so fun! Though I had serious soreness on my both calf after the session, which lasted for a week…
My university senpai visited Singapore, the topics we chatted were so different compared to few years ago, she is no longer so into chasing idols, attending concerts, but rather, into investing, future planning, career. Time can change someone a lot, but the memories we made together stays. I was happy to be able to meet her in Singapore. Besides my senpai, good friend Julian also came to Singapore twice, really appreciated every time good friends could meet up, no matter how limited short time it was, how if it was the last chance we would meet each other?
It may be the most exciting thing for me in Ocotber, I took a half day off to attend my first formal Mysore class under teacher of Thiago Villa Verde, Ashtanga authorized teacher Level 2. Mr Thiago just happened to drop by Singapore for some personal matter and Yoga In Common invited him to lead 3 days of mysore class, replacing Vivian. I was hesitating a little whether I should take a leave to go, as it was on Friday morning, but I was so glad I did, Mr Thiago gave me advises which I could practice my own to deepen my asana. I appreciated the advice from him very much and the end of the class, I realised how much I love this style of Yoga and how much I want to deepen my practice. I wish one day I could meet Mr Thiago and learn from him again.
P/s: Look at my ‘sincere’ smile which makes my face so round and big but it did not matter at all, this picture will be such a memory for me
The last thing for me in October was the 10km run from Newton Challenge. This particular event meant something to me, Newton Challenge was the first running event I registered when I first started running. I still remember I trained a lot for that 21km run and I was satisfied with my time at 2hr 5min. So although I did not run much recently I decided to push myself for a 10km, I finished the run by 1hr 5min, not a good time but I was glad I joined it, I know I still have passion in running, who knows I might join Newton Challenge again in 2018? With a better time, I hope 🙂
