Tired of walking?
Why not start cycling?
Recently it is a hit for bike-sharing in Singapore.
More and more people are using the app and using the bicycles from the bike-sharing companies (I know of oBike, Ofo, Mobike)
When I first heard of the launch of this service in Singapore, I was so excited about it. I have seen such service available in Taiwan when I last visited Taipei in last September 2016.
Now it is available in Singapore!
To add the joy, few companies are letting users use the bicycle for free at this promotion period (I only use oBike, they have free rides for every weekend, and for ride distance lesser than 15 minutes, there is no charge; I heard Ofo is giving free rides everyday)
I ride the oBike every weekend to my ukulele class, to market, to meet friends, and I only realized I already rode distance 62.1km / reduced 16.20 carbon / burned 18,386k calories , since I started using this service 1st April.
I got $3 free credit from the promo code and I have not even used any of this free credit yet.
(use my promo code to get $3 free credit )
So far, I only see good things about the bicycle-sharing service.
It has given me a chance to ride bicycle whenever I feel like, without considering to own a bicycle, and worry about where I should keep it if I bought it.
The app is very user friendly, and systematic. I am rather impressed with it. You can locate the bicycle once you on the app.
There is a need to pay a deposit of $49 for oBike for first time user, it is said that we can request for the return of this deposit when we decided we no longer needing this service.
The convenience has come to Singapore for its reason, it may be because Singapore is a small country, it is easier to manage by the bicycle-sharing companies, but it may be also because the companies/investors are seeing Singapore as a highly civilized country, that the citizens are responsible to take care of the bicycles. I hope the users will appreciate the convenience and will not take it for granted
Enjoy a ride on this weekend?
